Casa da Foz - Historyczny obszar nad morzem

Wir haben eine gute Zeit verbracht in einer gemütlich eingerichteten Wohnung inmitten der Altstadt von Foz do Douro. Die Wohnung ist mit allen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet, die Vermieter sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln (ausser dem vielen Regen....). DIe Innenstadt von Porto ist bequem per Bus zu erreichen. Frische Brötchen gibt es in der Bäckerei um die Ecke und lecker Essen in diversen Lokalen in der fußläufigen Umgebung. Wir hatten einen Mietwagen, aber den benötigt man eher nicht. Der öffentliche Nahverkehr ist gut ausgebaut.

We decided to stay outside Porto near to the coast so that we could have the best of both worlds. Foz is a super spot and this cottage is situated in the quirky traditional part just a stone’s throw from the Douro River.

It was perfect for our party of 4 and we loved staying there. The cottage was clean, well equipped and we loved the small outside courtyard - it was the perfect spot to have breakfast each morning. A short walk down the road from the cottage takes you to the river side and a selection of cafes and restaurants without the need to go into Porto. However, when you do want to visit the city itself the 500 bus and the No 1 tram run right past the bottom of the road and both take you right into the centre of Porto.

We would highly recommend Casa da Foz. Sonia was a dream to communicate with - she organised our transfer to and from the airport and sorted our bags to be looked after the day we left -small things that made all the difference to our stay.

We loved the experience staying in a traditional and authentic house in the Foz do Douro area of Porto. It is very well equipped and modern inside with everything you will need to enjoy your stay.

Communication with Sonia and Ricardo was excellent with transfers organised through them. A professional and friendly driver Pedro to met us at the airport and took us directly to our accommodation.

We had a wonderful time in Porto! Foz is ideally located near the 1 Trolley and 500 Bus to the downtown tourist locations. We walked there and to Matosinhos from here. We met Sonia’s parents who kindly showed us a local cafe that has the most amazing pastries. The views were so nice and we immediately felt welcomed to Porto. The apartment is very welcoming too, with all the necessary guides to find places. We rode bikes on the boardwalk to Matasinhos. We sat on the back patio and tasted port with friends. We visited Douro valley and all the tourist spots had the most amazing time and would love to return soon. Thank you, Sonia, for making our stay so nice and for connecting us with Pedro who picked us up from the train station and took us back after our stay. Everything was perfect!
